Was in an accident

My car has been totaled and I have a lot of audio equipment in it. I'm not certain what will happen financially if my insurance just takes my equipment. I'm not sure if they will give me what I paid for, or will pay what they want, but I paid a little over $3,000. I have a hard time believing they will give me that. DDX6902s, JL 600/1, 300/4, 12W6v3 are the equipments I am referring to in my post. The install stuff like wires and such aren't such a big deal in my question.

From what I remember the sound cut out when we collided and my car was dead in the road, so fire department was called and they cut things under the hood so we don't explode. I'm not certain what's working and I have no way to test it because at the least my power wire was cut. We were not going very fast. We were at a dead stop and they ran the light. I didn't see him in time and we collided. We weren't going very fast and air bags weren't deployed.

My questions:

Should I rip out the system? What is the likelyhood of things being damaged versus just being compensated for the equipment?

I'm thinking the amplifiers are OK, but the sub might be damaged. I honestly don't know about the deck.

I will be allowed to rip out the system by myself on their property, I just need to bring my tools. I know how to do it since I installed it all. I still have the stock deck to reinstall.

I need to let my insurance company know in the next two days. Friday is the last day before I start incurring storage costs.

if u don't have separate audio ins.. take amps/ subs and anything else u can pull out..

Im not sure what you mean by audio ins?

Really hard to say w/o looking at everything in person, as for condition of everything. Depends where you had your amps mounted and sub location.
It was all front end damage. The sub box was knocked out of place from where it was screwed in and sub has a grill on it. The amps were screwed in to a block of wood to insulate from touching metal and that was screwed to the back of the back seats.

Rip it all out and salvage what you can. Trust me, the insurance won’t give you crap even if you have nice gear. I had a drunk driver hit n run me on a red light and another time an old man drove right into me so I feel your pain. Insurance companies want to give you the least amount possible. The best the insurance can do is a few hundred at most I would say.

Not to get off topic but I think insurance companies are one of the biggest scammers. We shell out all that $$ every month. yet when someone gets into an accident, it's pennies on the dollar for a claim. Wonder where all that $$ goes when we pay them....

Think he means insurance....no one has audio insurance.
I would remove everything salvageable/saveable from the wreck.
I think he was the third person to mention audio insurance. Before I installed, I asked my insurance about that and the car alarm and they shrugged me off and told me to keep receipts which is what I’ve done.

Even if I kept receipts? That’s the only factor I forgot to mention earlier, so I’m not sure if that will change your answers.

Also, what are the chances that my equipment is damaged from my response to boomin_tahoe? I should have stated that possible equipment damage is what I’m mainly looking into. I am more than happy to get my hands dirty and torn again to take out my equipment if it means there’s a high chance they’re fine. I don’t want to be left with bricks if I could have been paid for them.

Sorry. I’m just trying to be as accurate as possible. If it seems like I’m grasping at straws, it’s because I am. I went back to college so I’m barely surviving on cash and this accident is killing me. I’m just trying to give you guys the most accurate information so you guys can give your best available answers.

This. We cannot see over the internet or even see pics of audio in crash so again it's tough to determine if your audio is alright or not.

You should have no problems just getting the gear out even if you have an aftermarket head unit you can take it out and the insurance company won’t care about you taking the hu as long as you replace it with the factory unit or a Walmart special pos so it’s all good. Even if you had had nice wheels and tires you can yank them off and put junkyard wheels and tires on it and either keep them for another ride (if the bolt pattern is compatible of course). When my brother totaled my cruiser/ Audio 99 Nissan Quest van I got all my equipment including multiple oversized 1/0 Knu cable took out my optima and put in a dead battery and got the sweet Enkei 5 spoke 17s I had got for free when a tire shop scratched the hell out of the special edition black chrome wheels on my mom’s 04 Solara. The Solara sadly after 270k miles and just needing basic maintaince had just had to replace the alternator before a long wheel base waste cooking oil pump truck turned hard left to get on the on ramp and my mom was pinned in and plowed into the side of of the rear frame of the truck my mom was lucky to walk away but the poor car came to an abrupt death.
