ok after i had my installed my us acoustics usx4065, there was a whining noise coming from the speakers. the car audio place said it was my amp, not the wiring. so, they put on a ground loop isolator....does this mean that they made bad grounds and that they gipped me by making me pay for the isolator??!!!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/furious.gif.fc81ca146dbff91fede3ed290dbc4f4c.gif

yes, but it also means that the grounds are too close together, therefor creating a GROUND LOOP //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Man, with a subject line like "I got jacked" I though that you actually got jacked! Glad you didn't.

I had this problem with my current set up. I tried different RCA's, different wire placement, putting the grounds together, seperating them, different power/ground wire...everything. Nothing worked. I had to resort to an isolator to finally get rid of it. I still have no idea where it came from but it's gone so I don't look into it any more. Where I'm going with this is that it could be a lot of different things or multipul things together. I had the same set up in a '95 cavalier and never had a problem. I installed it in an '02 cav. and now I did. I'd say that if the problem is gone then go with it. I don't think that the guys were jerkin' you around.

Originally posted by maylar I also had some alternator whine with my USX4065. It turned out to be some kinda ground loop in the RCA wiring. Maybe this amp is sensitive to wiring somehow.
yea, thats probably right. it seems like a lot of people have had this type of problem. oh well, its worth the extra 10 bucks. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
