Was I in the wrong?

Let me start off by saying if this doesn't belong in this area, please feel free to move it!

Ok I just want to make sure I did what (I figure) anyone else would do in this same situation. I was offered a trade this weekend from a member on here. Although I've never dealt with this person in the past, I've seen his name and threads around and they've always seemed a little shady (incorrect pictures with no name/date or old dates on fresh threads)... Now this is just my opinion and I am, as an American Vet, entitled to that opinion! So he offers me a trade literally sight unseen! I'm semi-interested so I ask for a picture or even better a video of it working (he has a couple other FS threads, but this item is not one of them) and he tells me he can't do that. I explain that I'm not to comfortable doing a trade when I can't even see the item he's offering to me. Than he gets pissed that I would question his word and says he has perfect iTrade feedback (one transaction over 6 months ago) and the he wouldn't ruin "his rep" over this item... I tell him that if he shipped 1st, since the item he's offering to trade is around $300 or less depending on the condition (who knows what it looks like!) verses my $500 items, I would be more comfortable doing the deal. That's when he became rude and basically told me to shove it!

My question to everyone that reads this.... What I in the wrong?

When i only had one feedback i had to ship first to make my second deal happen. So id say the same thing. If it seems shady tho id just back out of a trade..paypal backs you...trades are trust. If i feel even a little uneasy about a trade ill just walk away. Im not getting scammed from some low life on here

Heck no if he wouldn't show you a picture or anything, plus if it's 300$ vs 500$ I would want it to be in great shape. I mean I just started on this website not to long ago but if you ask me you are right. He should gladly send pictures. I know I would! Better to look out for your own investments then get screwed. Ya feel me.

I could've understood if he said, give me a couple days and I'll you the pictures since he "claimed" his phone was broken. I'm an understanding guy and am in no rush to get most of my deals going. I could've waited to get the pictures!

Who was it ? Blast his name to help protect others on here. I've delt with many people on here and pics have always been provided without having to ask.

sigh another troll thread buy it or don't who cares stop the drama.
Is it more of a troll to ask a question about the way I handled another member on this forum, or to complain about somebody else's thread who's seeking advice?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

I left his name out of it, just in case I was completely wrong about the situation and I have no "real" reason to put him on blast since it wasn't a completed transaction, just the way he handled himself via PM.

If the guy seems shady why are you even considering dealing with him? Is this deal really worth the gamble?

I agree and that's why I didn't push the issue more than I did. This was just more me checking to make sure I handled myself correctly. I'm the type of guy that does what i can to make deals go smoothly when possible!

You were right and I had to do the things you asked for just to sell things not even a trade. I took extra pics and videos of things to just sell them. I don't see a problem with that at all.

If you are going to hide the name of person for that reason then you are also part of the problem in my eyes. That's cool DONT look out for anyone else dude. Go cry else where then

I'm not hiding his name, if you really want to know who it is you can PM me. I just didn't start this to bash a person on a deal that never happened nor did I want to drag someone's name through the mud that may have had a bad day and dealt with things a little wrong. We didn't make a deal so I have no reason to put him on blast and ruin what little reputation he may or may not have! This thread was created to get the opinion of other people to make sure that I handled myself properly or if I may have jumped the guy on the issue. Not to "Cry" as you so kindly put it.... and if you really wanted to know the person, I'm sure with the clues I've stated you could figure it out pretty easily with out me saying this person's name!

Over the years, there has been many scammers. 9 times out of 10, the problem isn't the scammers. It's the honest person not doing research and protecting himself. There are threads and threads of known scammers listed on this site.

And a great seller will never turn down a chance for you to ask about his "reputation" in a thread on this site. It gives confidence to future buyers and sellers and gives confidence to the transaction. If you're not willing to talk about how things can go right with a transaction with oneself, they will definitely not talk to you after a bad transaction, especially after it goes wrong.

Not everyone can afford to right a wrong, but honesty can keep your reputation if you accidentally fuck up. Trying goes a long way to remedy a situation. And convey confidence you will make right in the end.

I still love banging fat chicks, ain't nothing changed. Just so everyone still knows. Truff
