Zeroed down to 2 viable options. The Alpine SPX-17PRO and the Dynaudio System 220.
Here's my next salvo of questions:
1. Dynaudio Midbasses are spoken about, all over the world, for their exceptional performance. Is having a 5.25 inch Dyn midbass a SERIOUS drawback as compared to the Alpine 6.5 inch one? I mean, yes, the 6.5 inch one can go low. But Dyns are known for their supermidbasses, and I also have the W12GTi to complete the lower band. Does having 5.25 inch midbasses (even Dynaudio) pose a serious handicap to the system? Alpines are not big shakes when it comes to midbass production. Summing up all this, what would be your inference??
2. 120W RMS to the whole DYN set. Am I being a criminal, feeding LESS power to the components, and running them passive?
3. The Alpines have a special Ring Radiator tweeter that may fit into the sail panel. I know the DYN tweeter wont. HOW much better will the DYn tweeter be than the PRO? Or vice versa? Will the tweeter from the Dyns be a patch on the Alpine?
4. Last question: DYNAUDIO SYSTEM 220 OR ALPINE SPX-17PRO???????
