Ill offer a little info...

If this is your speaker, http://www.dealercostcaraudio.com/hk15x2.aspx

then you dont need 3000w, and you dont need it at 4ohm either.

RMS on that sub is 2000, so thats what I would be shooting for, or even something under that number. According to the specs, the sub is a DVC 2ohm, so you could wire the VCs in parallel and get a 1ohm load. Be much easier, (and cheaper) to power it like that.

Just some suggestions..

boss amps are soooooo gooood

for the most part your right, they are poop but they had a few os ones that werent bad. zed built a few.

and ma subs arent all that bad. they have a few poop ones but for the money they are hard to beat.

3k@4ohm would be retarted expensive and would be a waste of money. better off finding something around 1500rms @1ohm.

3K at 4ohms, best bet would be a big 2 channel amp bridged and would absolutley murder your electrical system

You cant be looking for a mono amp that does 3000@ 4ohms,Right? You would be paying for unused power.That would have to come from something like a 10,000w+ mono.Since its dual 2, a mono amp is what you need but get something like 3000w rms and be conservative with the gains.

If I posted I would feel like I was talking to the guy today who just payed 4200 for a complete system and told me if I wa going to spend that much (550 for my pair of DDs) that I should go with MTX

lol fool thats the exact same sub i had. it will not take 5k rms. i gave it 2500 and it was almost at its limit. there good for the price but DEFINATLY not 10k sub

Just keep the boss amp and build a new box for your sub, thats probably why its not loud enough for you. What size are your power and ground wire on the amp?

OP I have ran ma audio equipment over many many of years. Still have some of the synergy series subs running too Few of the HC line of amps. Ran and still run Many of their amps, subs, speakers, line drivers, even screens. No problems.

 

You can look up the specs on line on their website. I dought that boss is putting out over 500 watts at any ohm load. I have mine running off a kicker 400.1 does just fine for me. Hits a 137 on the TL lol music too. Was running a show bored when I first got there. I will have to take of few measurments on the box size. Not sure how big it is. Simple crx style box ; sub up, ports facing out the side

yea but i had the sub power at 600 and my boss amp does bump louder. on the boss amp if its wired at 4 ohm the rms is 1550 not 500 nd i got mine wire at 1ohm nd its geting around 3000 or more im not braging because that really is not that many wattage but befor you try saying suttin make shure ur right b4 you do
