Want to install neon light in trunk

I want to install one of these in my trunk

Is there a way I can wire it to the light already in the trunk so it will only light up when I open the trunk?

Yep. Tap the wires to the exiisting light

wire it up into the trunk dome light... that is if there is a light in your trunk that turns on when the trunk is opend.. In my monte there is a light that turns on when the trunk is opened passed half way.

Yeah my car has that. So basically ill just be able to wire it right to those existing wires and ditch the old light right? Sounds easy enough.

yea, if you wanted to do that you can... But id leave the stock light, and just splice into it and add the neon..

Think that light will be big enough or should I get a 20" one
