Probably a stupid? But I want to move things around in my trunk, ? So do i have to disconnect the ground terminal from my battery in order to disconnect the power and ground cables from my amp and reconnect?

So i have to disconnect the groound and amp power wire from battery or can i just do the power wire from battery

I do but is in the fuse holder, ok so i understand take the power wire from battery the take the fuse out, then when i am ready to put back on put fuse back on? I just don't want to screw **** up lol

you don't have to disconnect the power cable if you take out the fuse. Take out the fuse or disconnect power cable from battery-whatever is easier. BE CAREFUL if you take out the fuse. The disconnected end that is still attached to the battery will still have power. don't let it touch anything. With little experience it may be safer to just disconnect from battery. I use circuit breakers similar to a house breaker. Flip a switch and no more power! Any time I work on someone's system I try and switch them to breakers. Easier, safer, and no fuses to buy.

Breakers are not as safe as fuses in the harsh environment of a vehicle... especially if they ever trip. Each time a breaker trips it arcs and the connection point develops some resistance. Not to mention, breakers don't trip as quickly as fuses blow in a semi low resistance condition. Moreover, breakers are mechanical and thus, are subject to mechanical failure due to dirt infiltrating the internals. In the end, breakers are nice from the perspective of quick disconnect but they are not as safe or as reliable as fuses under the hood of an automobile.

And OP, you can disconnect the power wire, fuse or ground wire and you'll be fine. Just don't do it while the system is playing. ;-)

That is true breakers do require maintenence. I was just suggesting for some not confident with electrical there is safety that comes with security. If you know all you have to do is flip a switch and it's off then your not going to disconnect the wrong wire or set the disconnected wire in the wrong place- thus safer! In my opinion a new guy has more of a chance that he'll accidentally touch the allen wrench across both ends of the fuse holder than he will blow his breaker and wear it out.
