I am going to be buying a new alternator for my 04 Colorado and am wanting to know how I can get a constant 14.4 voltage off my my alternator. I am probably going to be buying an alternator that is 200 plus amps, and I have a Autotek MX-3000.1 amp. Let me know if you have any ideas on doing this, I was thinking maybe additional battery or capacitor?? Let me know your thoughts.

dont buy any of the cap, extra batt shit untill u completed upgrade all your wires to something fat. I recommend 1/0 wire. Do the Big 3 on your car. I still havent upgraded the wire from my stock 105 alternator to my batt and I still get a constant ~14.6 volts. The volts drop to about 14.1 when bass hits really hard

....I have already ran 0 guage wire, and I am running about 3500 watts rms between my highs, mids, and lows. Their has already been a shitload of money sunk into this project, and im into the electrical phase right now. Any extra information on capacitors would be gladly taken, and I will be doing research on them myself anyways. Though I would like the opinion of somone that has had experience with this. Still no luck on finding an alternator, but I am making the move to get an Optima battery to replace to factory which is being donated to my other car. Thanks Tim

get a optima or the biggest badeest battery you can fit..generally they are about half the price of a optima...i have a duralast(autozone)($70) or sumtin that is 1000 ca's and 900 cca's and i love it to death...then do the big 3..if you still have probs then.............just wait till the time comes
