So i bought a HO alt with an external voltage regulator, but really have no idea where to mount it. Vehicle is a 2004 blazer 4.3L. Instructions say to mount to the firewall, but i was told not to because of the heater device behind it or something like that. anybody have any ideas on where to mount it? show pics please.... thanks.

also, one of the terminals on the regulator connects to a ignition switch. Can i simply connect a wire from the terminal to the ignition switched wire in my alpine radio harness?
