voltage dropping!! help asap1

guys i have a 2002 chevrolet impala. i have 4 1232d lanzar optidrive with a planet audio big bang. i have an extra battery in the back (kinetik hc1400) i have it parallel wiring with the battery up front. wit a fuse inbetween. i have a 220 h.o. alt. my front battery reads 14.9 volts. and my amp reads 12.8 volts. wat is the problem? please help!!

Is the readout on your amp? Or is it at the two wires going int your amp?

bad ground possibly.

if anything try unplugging your amp from the back and hook it right up at the front battery and see how that reads out.

also whats your battery in the back read compared to the one up front.

...they do say not to mix battery brands/types so maybe thats your problem.

both your batterys have to be the same type (ie. both agm. wet cell. ect) so if your front and back battery are different types, that could be your problem. you didnt mention what kind of battery you got in the front.

i have a red top optima up front. and the readout of the wires going into the amp.

I just had to trash 2 brand new Redtops,that were only 2 months old..I didnt put them back in..I instead went to Orileys and got 2 new AGM batteries and am back up and running @14.6v

Check your voltage after your fuse holder coming from the front battery.

What are your rear batteries resting at?

i just have one rear i believe its 13.09 some like that

Then your alt may not being charging your rear battery, because around 12.6-13.1 is where most batteries rest, and that's where you are. Blown fuse?

this happened to me before . in my case it was the ground. no matter how much i sanded to bear metal . it still read voltage at 12.8v . switched the grounds location and changed to 14.3v. hope this helps
