voltage drop from front to back

well its reading fine now? so idk whats going on ...... i have noticed that when the amp turns on it drops volt to 12 even.... maybe that batt is bad

oh and i found out that i lost about .1 volts from the front to the back ... so front would be 14.2 and the back would be 14.1

While those statements are true and it should be checked to prevent problems in the future, the alt cannot be the problem right now as the voltage at the front is 14v.

Didn't say it was, but if he has a battery resting at 9 volts/can fall to 9 volts with the rest of the system being much higher I wouldn't put it on an alt until it was charged and or tested.

Check both batteries independent of each other and run the ground from the front batt. to the second batt. check you fuses

sounds like the second batt. is not charging correctly ( too much load not enough current )

Can a fuse still be bad, but still allow current through? How would I know?

i have a ground in the back of the truck..... to the chasise .... should i run a ground up front to?

this might help... at least you will KNOW that there is good path for the ground
