say what you like but the cold hard reality is that the temptation to crank is just too great. i almost always get an amp that is rated higher than the subs ability to take it because you can easily tell when your subs are being overpowered as opposed to overpowering the amp.
like i said--there is an obvious audible difference in sound when the subs are being overpowered as compared to an amp being pushed too hard. sometimes clipping can only bee seen with an o-scope where-as overpowering subs is almost always audible.I do understand the temptation. Just explain why he wouldnt be tempted to turn it up more if he KNEW that his amp could put out the power cleanly, and the subs MAY be able to take more than what they are rated for?
if your in the market for amp to use daily and do occasional burps--the orion 2500 or the big kicker 2500 would be great choices IMHO!!!hmm i will prob have it tuned to what it is recommend but i will like to give some burps and all so what amp would work?
only 2 ohm stable as well---does kicker L7's come in dual 2 ohm vc's?yeah it is 2ohm stable.. and is taht viper 2500.1 ok?
yes it is dual 2 ohm, 2 12's l7, just the amp is the problem with these what i want is SQ with some SPL so just mention some amps unless any of those 2 vipers will doonly 2 ohm stable as well---does kicker L7's come in dual 2 ohm vc's?
the viper 2500 will work great with dual 2 ohm vc's just use a series/parallel connection for a final 2 ohm load and your golden.yes it is dual 2 ohm, 2 12's l7, just the amp is the problem with these what i want is SQ with some SPL so just mention some amps unless any of those 2 vipers will do
no 3 would yield a 1.33 ohm load or a .33 ohm load and would send viper 2500 into hiding. and i would say 160 amp with big 3 would most likely be enuff.ok last question would that viper be able to take 3 l7's ? and if not those 2 with that amp it will go through my electrical system? i have 160 stock alternator and gold battery from sears, and big 3 next week or soemthign
