I just had one proffesionally installed on my 01 GC and they told me I needed one. When i was calling around pricing them, all the shops I called mentioned one as well

a module to do what? interface with the stock alarm? are you adding remote start? if so, then an immobilizer bypass module is required.

FYI - i used an idatalink immobilizer bypass and it worked slick.
