Vibrations/Rattles Help

For anyone who has replaced all the speakers in their car can someone help me…?

I have a ‘13 Lexus GS350 F-Sport (Non-ML), and replaced all the speakers in my doors and dash with alpines. I have two skar 10” subs in the back. Surprisingly the subs don’t rattle anything except my dash cam which I’ve fixed. The door speakers front being 6x9 and rear being 6.5, seem to vibrate a lot more at certain frequencies which is understandable, but created a little annoying vibration with the panel that a lot of other people miss but I constantly focus on. I find myself focusing more on looking for the vibrations when I’m driving rather than enjoying my system and the music…


What I’ve done so far to reduce door vibration rattle is:

- Apply SoundSkins deadening around speaker hole in door so that the bracket mounts onto the deadening.
- Apply a thick layer of foam tape on the bottom side of the bracket making contact with the deadening.
- Apply a layer of speaker gasket where the speaker meets with the bracket.
- Add fast/foam rings on the speaker and behind inside the door.
-Add 2 foam washers/rings on each individual door clip.
-Added thick tape on the back of each door clip so they don’t have wiggle room in the door panels slots.
- Added foam tape running along the door panel edge where it contacts the doors metal.
- Tightened random screws I could see on the panel and door itself, along with wedging foam or thick tape between any loose components in the door.


So far majority of the songs and music I listen to have clean sound. However some songs that have certain higher bass frequencies which the door speakers play. Or when the songs purposely do a distorted echo/thru the phone effect it vibrates the door panels still.

Wondering what else I could possibly do besides applying sound deadening all through the door…

Use test tones to find out exactly where the rattle sound is originating, and specifically treat that spot.
I've agonized over quieting down a rattle in one spot, only to discover it was actually originating elsewhere and "transmitting".
Cross over your fronts a little higher to reduce the bass that is causing the rattle.

Yeah I’ll try that, thank you. I’ve used frequency generators on line before, but I forgot to use it as I was working on the car…

I wish I had as much control as you mentioned with adjusting crossovers but I’m running on the factory amp. I don’t really want to explore too far into upgrading the amp, dsp, and then have to pay to get everything wired since I don’t trust myself and don’t have the correct software for everything…

I wish I had as much control as you mentioned with adjusting crossovers but I’m running on the factory amp. I don’t really want to explore too far into upgrading the amp, dsp, and then have to pay to get everything wired since I don’t trust myself and don’t have the correct software for everything…

Gotcha. Maybe a bass-blocking capacitor on the speaker itself, then. Something in the 80Hz range.
Not too expensive to try out.

I wasn't aware of how inexpensive they are, would've been very useful in my last car. However it currently seems to be in the harder hitting mid-bass range, they don't really struggle with lower frequencies.

It should be noted that your speakers should be isolated from any metal connections to avoid transfer of vibrations. Hopefully, you addressed that when you did your deadening. I applies deadening to hard plastic panels. Some vehicles have “TSB” or technical service bulletin distributed by the manufacturer to dealers, informing them of non-recall issue. My Mustang had one for a small panel behind the door panel that caused unnecessary vibration.
