There are several options to fixing the stock sound systems and getting bass back.  I've been using the JL Audio VX1000/5i for over a year (since August 2017) and i've used the preouts to fix the factory EQ.  I finally made a video detailing the process. This method allows you to use an EQ and see what you're doing to correct for the response.   Other videos describe using RTA software to see the audio signal in more detail.

I would try a pair of Bass Blockers on the rear speakers. I always place them on Coax. speakers generally, Should help quite a bit I like PAC ones...
