using 2 channels on one sub?

not talking about bridging, but would be hooking each voice coil up to a diff channel be alright? or any side effects?

for the amp i've got it states:

Rated outputs (supply voltage at 14.4V)

200Wx2(at 4 ohm)

250Wx2(at 2 ohm)

500W(monaural at 4 ohm)

so i suppose it would be pointless to hook each coil up at a 2 ohm load per channel right?
