I am in the process of looking for a new car. I have thought about and wanted just about all types of cars/trucks. I think i have settled that there is no use to get a vehicle that get less than 20mpg. I would also like to be able to have a decent "sq" setup in there. Meaning components, rear midbass, and then a nice subwoofer.

I have been looking at volkswagon recently and they seemed to be priced kind of low for some good miles on them. I was looking into the Golf mostly, but the passats are nice as well. Anyone have a volkswagon for their daily driver? If so, how is the gas, how was installation, and overall was it a good buy? I will have the car for atleaste 5-6 years so i want it to be reliable.

I really like this, but it might be a little too much.

Check out http://www.vwvortex.com is you have not already, from what I understand they are expensive to fix if you have someone else work on it but if you are somewhat handy yourself then they are not too bad.

I am still (it has become a long process) looking for another ride myself but a MK3 or MK4 GTI with a Vr6 is on my short list but I am pretty sure realistically they VR6 gets

I am keeping my Scion which gets around 30mpg to commute to mileage is not a big factor in my decision.

i have a 73 super beetle no system yet only 140,000 miles on it, great car 22 mpg, get one, they are cheap not and they are fun.............just think of a oversized go kart

if u want good gas from a vw, id consider anything with a 1.8t or a 2.0t. i have a mk4 gti vr6 and its pretty crappy on gas. 275 miles on a full tank with 75 highway/25 city driving on a light foot. i know people with modded 1.8ts / 2.0t (mk5s) pullin off at least 350 miles to the tank and close to 400. (roughly 13-14 gallon tanks)

well i got two one is a 01 Jetta gets around 30mpg and then i have a cabrio that get 35-40. intsals in them are not to bad. also both have 2.0's
