Used Liquid Nails... Uh oh

I've had to tear apart boxes before, and if they were held together with liquid nails the bond was terrible. I could easily separate them.

Now titebond II on the other hand, that shit holds like a mofo.

(note that most of my enclosures do a 170 inside the box, LOTS of pressure)

Either way though, I find titebond easier to work with. Though the non-running liquid nails would be nice to have for assembling panels with multiple sides to glue at once.

I used LN and it was a fail 2 15" RE SE's had the port wall knocking against the side wall maybe it was just a shitty built box though but my next box after that was fine and I used titebond. its been a 2:1 ratio and LN has had a 0% Sucess rate for me

liquid nails works best when it sits for a minute or 2 before bonding. did tests on it and titebond at school. titebond had about the same strength ln had but with titebond you can attach as quickly as you want

Liquid Nails sticks to MDF like crazy.

If your cuts are all jagged and need to be sealed it works great since it expands. If your cuts are straight though the expansion is bad.

I havent touched the stuff in a long time but iirc the bottle says not to use it on mdf, but people do and I guess it'll work just fine with the added support of screws. I'd suggest just using Titebond II from now on though.

that's for 1/4" mdf, not 3/4", I read the bottle.

I've used liquid nails and never EVER had a problem. This is for around 50 or so enclosures in the last 5 years

LN is fine for sealing around the edges but I wouldn't use it for bonding wood together as it doesn't penetrate the wood, it stays on top. I use the Gorilla wood glue, the white kind not that expanding crap.

Well i have always use LN and never any problems, but i think I will try TightBond next time to just compare them.
