used gun prices?

The G22 comes with 10 round clips. Glock makes the 14 and 15 round ones you can buy. Texas has no restrictions and the guns are the very same you can buy.
My suggestion...If you want cheap and still a good gun. Either go with Ruger, Glock, or a used Sig.

Run hard and fast fro a hi-point. Ive had a few jam up and scare me.
See I never looked into that, I figured Tx had no restirctions. Im not sure about the gun though, usually the guns that accept the 10 round mags dont fit the 15 rounders too well.

1 way to find out, try it. The mags are only $20-25.

do your research. on every gun, there are forums like this for guns too. sig .45 is a top notch gun, but it will run you around 800 bucks but very worth it. might be able to find one for around 600 with some looking.

As already stated, stay away from High Point. Most any name brand gun now will work very well. I do not own a Glock (about the only brand I don't) but will soon. They are a very reliable gun, will fire after being dropped in mud, sand, water and ect.. Now, they are not the most accurate but very reliable (it's not like your going to be sniping people with it though). Good brands have been mentioned here, Glock, Taurus (these are cheap and good), Sig, Beretta, Ruger and ect.. I would personally go to a gun show and just buy a new one cheaper than any local shop or buy a used one there in most cases.

Yes, Texas is a gun owners paradise. My Beretta came with a 10 round magazine (I bought back when 15 round mags werer illegal here) but they hold a 15 round perfectly (it's a factory magazine) and the same goes for a Glock.

Remember this though, no matter what gun you decide one it needs to be kept clean. If not, even the most reliable gun may jam.

No handgun is really THAT accurate, if you want precise then a rifle would be the best bet. So long as you put enough rounds downrange and learn proper trigger control its not a problem. Like no limp wristing, some even prefer the point/shoot method which for close range sounds logical IMO. Other then that, .10" isnt going to make any difference in a defense situation. Now, if you're shooting for sport, its a different story.

Even with mine, the distance I put the most rounds through was between 7-25 yards. Most of which was 15 yards and under. Reason being, I dont think shooting from 75+ft away qualifies as self defense //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif upto about 25 yards though ive been able to keep a pretty tight group. After that, its tight enough. I just wanted to make sure the distance up close was the one I personally was best at, because most self defense situations are usually within 7yards.

ONe that i havent heard mentioned, and im surprised is the Springfield XD series. Buddy of mine has the .40 and 9MM versions and they are a joy to shoot, very little barrel hop and a VERY accurate pistol. In fact, many people use them for competitions.

I agree about carrying the Glock. I wish there was atleast a grip safety. My carry weapon of choice is a revolver, but the Glock usually stays under the seat. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I personally carry a Sig P229r, with a P226 as a backup. I saw someone mention the XD series by springfield arms, I have been seeing alot more of these at our gun club, Imma have to put some rounds through one, and give it a good testing. Im not a fan of glocks, a little too light for me.

Desert Eagle .50 AE!!! They're big. They're bulky. They're quite inaccurate at range. But they sure can make someone staring at the end of the barrel shit themselves.

I think that no matter what you get you should take a safety course first!

You will get some hands on experience and learn the proper way to care for the gun and most imporantly how to handle it safely!!

Like what was mentioned above Glocks can be dangerous if you arent experienced. There is no safety and no decocker so its always ready to go.

I have a Glock 19 (9mm), SIG 229SAS (40), SIG 239 (40), and SIG 226 Equinox (40). As you can tell I like SIGS.

The best thing is they hold the value so spend the money up front and dont buy junk!!

You couldn't pay me to carry a Glock. No safety, no decocker, easy to take your foot off. I like my sig p26

IF you keep your finger off the trigger, you dont have anything to worry about. Ive been carrying for a while now, with 1 in the chamber & it hasnt gone off "accidentally" the trigger wont even go back unless something gets in there and continues to apply pressure.

As for a decocker, well the firing pin isnt in the cocked position. Even with 1 in the chamber. It cocks when the trigger starts being pulled. So its not like its cocked and under pressure waiting to go off.

Its 100% safe, just keep your finger off the trigger. ANY accident thats happened with a Glock is the operators fault. Its at the point where its become a pet peeve, unless you're ready to shoot, your finger stays off the trigger. End of story.

As far as sigs go, love em. The reason a lot of people dont like Glocks is because they cant shoot them well. Its weird, but the way the trigger breaks is different from other guns. If you're used to shooting well with say, a 1911 or a Sig you're probably not going to shoot well with a Glock (majority anyway) this goes the other way as well. Im used to the way the Glocks shoot, but not so much other handguns. Reason being, I carry my Glock.

Hitman;

Yes, they are plenty accurate for self defense. If you have time to aim at someone, then you have time to get away without having to use your gun. I can hit a paper target at 10 yds 95% of the time in the hit zone with the point and shoot method. When I said accurate, I was refering to say a Beretta, competition 45 or long barrel revolver. I only list those because they are guns I own or have owned. I can hit torso sized objects at 50 yds with my 357 wheel gun with just a small amount of aim time but not so with a Glock. Granted, I have had much more range time with my wheel gun compared to a Glock.
