i used some fatmat rattle trap xxx on the trunk lid of my car, and it was all good till this morning. went to look an hour ago, and it was all soft and the corners were peeling in some places. it hasnt even been very hot yet and it already getting soft.

have you guys used this stuff?

im thinking about getting a quart of second skin spectrum and spray a coat over the whole trunk lid

Not clean as in wipe off the surface, but on surfaces where gravity comes into play, wash the surface in methyl hydrate or acetone. And use a roller or back of screw driver to apply heavy pressure

I used fatmat on my hatch and roof, never came off, same reason why I was able to use peel n seal successfully to. Clean is mean

ive seen of people using that silver/metallic colored insulation tape around the outside and edges of the deadener, very good adhesive and is a PITA to take it off try that after.

I used this, although not in a gravity situation. Its silver with a white peel off backing. Comes in rolls like duct tape

We used Dynamat Xtreme on my friends trunk lid. We used a very small amount of rubbing alcohol to clean the surface, and there has been a couple brutal summer days, but the Dynamat is still on strong, not peeling and definitely not soft. Maybe it's just the brand.

well guys i think it just wasnt cured fully yet. went out after work and even in the blistering texas heat, its on firm and strong.

my put some silver attic tape around the edges still, but i dont think i have to worry now that its had a couple days to cure.

fatmat actually made my trunk rattle worse, because it focuses the vibrations on the areas that are double walled and hollow. i got some expanding foam im gonna spray inside to finish the job
