I can get both for about the same price.

The amp will be used for running 2 L7 12" dual 4 ohm subs (2006). This is for a boat system, so the amp won't be seeing 14 volts, probably more like 12.5-13.5, so please base you recommendation on this fact. Higher efficiency would be nice.

Thanks in advance.

The US Amps is rated for 1500x1 at 1 ohm.

The Power Acoustik is rated for 2300x1 at 1 ohm.

Will either amp perform at rated power? What should I expect to get out of them?

4000D does maybe 900wrmsThe PA prob doesnt do rated, but it definetly does more than 900w
Wow, the 4000d is rated for 1500x1 at 1 ohm and only does 900 watts? I guess I have my decision!

Other input still appreciated. Anyone running either of these amps right now?

PA does about 750 wrms at 2 Ohm at 12.5V and about 1k wrms at 1 Ohm. If you ask me how much PA does at 14.4 V the answer will be "add 30% to measured power at 12.5V" Total harmonic distortion less than 1% (unclipped signal)

Yep, even Greg at US Amps said its overrated.I was not impressed with the internals. Sold it for $150...piece of junk
thanks for the input.

What would be your opinion of the Power Acoustik A3000db versus the Autotek MM2000.1d? The Autotek is a bit pricier, and is rated at 2000x1 at 1 ohm.

Thanks again.

How can the PA only do 1000 watts at 1 ohm when it's rated at 2300x1 at 1 ohm? Even if it only does 1900-2000 watts (it's over-rated a bit) and I only give it 13 volts, I would still get 1750-1800 watts at 1 ohm.

Where are you getting you numbers from?

Id take it over both

Someone on here had the 4000w model that did more that rated when he benched it

looking at the board those numbers seem a bit off

This planet audio amp uses the same board, and the birthsheet seems believable

Yes, birthsheet seems believable but no any info about power. Is it RMS or a MAXIMUM power ? You don't know. I believe that in birthsheet is a true MAXIMUM power because there is no any info about distortions. Yes may be PA or Planet audio VX2200d does rated power but at 10% or more total harmonic distortion. That is clipped signal for sub. Rockford and Kicker wrote in their birthsheet that measured power is RMS and distortions are 1% and that is true RMS power. All review of Kickers and RF amp's confirm that in russian magazine.
