I have the 80GB classic with the current firmware 1.1.1

What ipod are u using? All of a sudden my ipod classic doesn't work on the HU any more but my ipod video works perferctly. I called crutchfeild and they said that Alpine is having issues with the new ipod classic. Also, if u are using the classic, what firmware version are u using?

You have to downgrade the firmware on it. Do NOT install any new updates from Apple until they get it fixed or your iPod won't work.

I've been looking on how to rollback the firmware, but haven't had any luck in finding the how-to on it.

A restore doesn't roll back the firmware. Guess I'm stuck waiting for alpine and apple to get their shlt together.

I treid a new Apple Classic and it worked perfectly. So it I must be one of the lucky ones where the HU and ipod don't like eachother. If someone has instuctions on how to rollback the firmware, please post them. Eventho I'm having these probs, I sitll love the HU.

Anyone get the custom wallpaper feature to work? It would just keep searching my ipod for 20 mins without doing anything. I got like 5 wallpaper i downloaded from i-personalize.com on my ipod and it won't find any or them.

What I'm I doing wrong?

download the file to the ipod.

connect the ipod to the head unit

go to display and then BGV Download

what is the secret!!!

good info on this thread. i have the 160gb iPod classic and the iDA-X100 is at the top of my HU upgrade list

Tested it with an iphone and it works fine but you can't receive calls with it connected.

I also order a small flash drive to play around the custom wallpapers some more.

I think with imprint you are really not missing much.

Does the player display album art from non-Ipod sources? I dont' own an Ipod, but wanted to use either my Creative Zen, or a bunch of usb flash drives / portable HD.

I'm currently debating between the 9886, iDAX-001 and 100. I really like the display of the iDA series, but if it doesnt' display album art, I may as well opt for the cdplayer.

Any ideas?

Finally got mine in, and just installed it a couple of days ago.

So far it's everything I expected, both good and bad. It only has basic EQ functions, which sounds sub par. Can't wait for the pxa-h100. Works seamless with the ipod classic. More thoughts to come with more play time on it.
