I tried and placed the order as a new customer and they even called me to tell me I couldn't do it because I'm not a new customer even though I signed up like a new one.

It kills me as mine could've shipped today but I'm determined to get a discount because its replacing a crappy HU they sold me as being a good SQ and its also.

I installed mine today and replaced my 9835 with it. I must say, it is a SWEET looking HU. I haven't had too much time to play with the settings yet, but its definately lacking in the SQ compared to the 9835 I had. Mainly because I don't think the X100 has the mediaxpander (which i like alot). I'm definately not gonna say that the x100 is bad yet, because, like i said, i haven't made really any tweaks yet. The ipod comtrols are awesome! Reading songs off the ipod is very fast, the display rocks, and controlling it from the HU is just like controlling it on the ipod. Huge props for that. Navigating the menu system is a ton easier than the 9835, mainly bacause of the large screen and its doesn't have a million options. So far, I must say I am very happy with my purchase. With some more tweaks, and possibly getting the PXA-H100, this will be in my car for years to come.

what ipod were you using?

Also I think the PXA-h100 should help with people who want a more SQ set up!!!

BTW It does have mediaxpander.

I wish the buttons still had the Multi-color option though...my 9835 matches my interior perfectly.

I will try to post some pics this weekend. I am using an 80gb Ipod classic with the HU and no, i do not believe it has MX unless u add the pda-h100. The manual states: that the MX option is displayed only when external processor is connected.

Ditto. The 'red' option on this HU is alot more colorful than the dash lights on my grand am. Still is a pimp looking HU tho.

Yea it looks nice. I would do the all red if I get one. I'm planning on changing out my gauges and AC panel soon anyway and speedhut.com does custom colors. Probably go all red...

Maybe built in but definately not accesible unless u by the h100. Kinda disappointing because I read the same thing u did and thought it did have it. IMO, it needs it.

Got it installed. really nice interface!!!!

I like how if you connect your ipod to the unit, it starts playing the song that your just listening. This also works when you disconnect the ipod it keeps playing the same song.

I have only play with it for about 2 mins because I'm still installing my boston pro60 and only have rear fill playing.

Will post some pics later tonight.

Also the PAC SWI-JACK steering wheel remote works!

What ipod are u using? All of a sudden my ipod classic doesn't work on the HU any more but my ipod video works perferctly. I called crutchfeild and they said that Alpine is having issues with the new ipod classic. Also, if u are using the classic, what firmware version are u using?
