under powering a sub ....

hello all.

im almost 100% dead set on getting a mj 18. = BUT =

its rms is suposed to be around 700w and its single 4 ohm.

my amp is hifonicx bxi1206d wich suposedly gives off......

450w at 4

900w at 2

1200w at 1

hooking them up together = me feeding a 700w rms sub 450w

if my amp even puts out that much.

im not going for extreme kill you bass, but I do like some noise

and shake in the car.

how bad do you think its going to **** off of around 450w

or do you think I should hold out and try to find a good deal on a used

sub around here in the classafieds ?

it won't really be that bad to underpower it, as long as you're smart about it. But you can generally find a 2ch. amp that will do that power bridged at 4ohm for a decent price in the classifieds. I think that's a better route to go

what you describ here is totall different than your sig. Do you want to be loud? If so you need to use your power. You don'y need 3 sets of comps, get 1 decent set, and buy a decent sub with the rest.

1 good 15" dual 2ohm in a good ported box will do the trick

I doubt your Vett is louder than my neighbors. 2 DD 9110c and a DD M3.
