Ultra high SQ subs are going to be limited to linear motor design such as Adire xBl^2 or our own LMS drivers or JBL split gap, and some (not all) underhung designs or else, servo controlled subwoofers as Velodyne, Paradigm and a few others make, we also make a few servo's for our customers too. Anything else is just more of the same.

Its also imperative to EQ the driver after you install it into your box. You can spend a lot of money on a driver and end up having it sound bad because of a non linear frequency response. PEQ and filters are critical and can not be omitted at cost in any application, be it home or car audio.

besides a w6v2, you can't go wrong w/ anything built by tc sounds. tc 2+ 8" shakes up my house and two tc9 12"s (1hp //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif ) are tearing my car apart

I wouldn't get an ID MAX!!!

JL W7 is a great woofer.

the MAGS look good but never heard it in person.

I had a w7 13.5 pretty solid SQ subwoofer. I blew the two ID MAX with my orion 2500d giving it 1000 watts. The older XXX or RE subs have some good SQ.
