Its cool man, I had a "illegal amplification system" ticket before. it was just a warning ticket. so Im sure you can get out of this ticket. most that **** is heresay anyway

lmao... only thing im really worried about is the fact that im on probation only have 2 months left on it but i dunno about now

just because the wonderful legal system fails in our "free country"

The mall cops (or whoever called the cops) are witnesses. That's enough evidence if he took thier statements. The cop would, probably, have to witness to arrest you. Since he didn't see/hear it he just wrote the ticket.

I'm guessing the cop looked in the car and saw your system and/or you admitted you were making noise? If so, that confirms the witnesses statements. Plenty of proof to convict you.

You could try fighting it, to get off on a techinicallity, but the fact is your guilty so the odds are not in your favor. You knew you were annoying the hell out of people there and you knew that the cops are cracking down on people who pound bass. You got caught.

Another strategy would be to show up to court and man up, tell him your wrote a letter to the mall apologizing for distrubing thier business and customers (give the judge a copy), tell them you didn't realize it could be heard so far away, you've torn out the system (take the sub box out of your car don't lie to the judge), and beg him to reduce the penalty to a non-misdemeanor because your already on probation and this could have very serious consequences for you. Tell him about a local group you volunteer with. If you don't, find one quick. Volunteer to help kids at your community center. Volunteer work with kids could really help.

If your already on probation, try to stay out of trouble instead of trying to get away with stuff.

I dont know the technical term for it but i do know that Bass (low Frequencies) cannot be pinpointed so even if he did hear your bass it could of been behind him or on the other side of the road... So you could bring that up also even if the mall cop says he heard it....

just pull your system out and say you dont even have one. if they need proof just show them your car. also make sure you bring car that is reported on ticket

FWIW I wouldn't bother fighting it.

You won't win. A cops word over yours wins 99%. Hands down.

If you ask for a trial they'll come down harsher when you lose with bs fees. This shouldn't affect your probation either.

i HAVE to show up to court. theres no fine on the ticket so i guess its up to the judge. it would be nice if he didnt show up though.

tell them it wasn't you. the cop never heard you. He can't fine you on the word of the mall cops, that's hearsay.

It's hearsay if the cop that ticketed you testifies. You should be able to get out of this.

Wrong. It's not hearsay. Witnesses give statements to police, that is admissable as evidence. I'd be willing to bet that those statements were then confirmed when the officer showed up and saw big subs in the car, and maybe the OP even admitted he was bumping. That's plenty of evidence to convict.

Cop gets on stand and says, "witness X and Y said yellow ricer car was bumping loud in the NW corner of parking lot.

I investigated and found a yellow ricer car in the location X and Y said. The same yellow ricer car had gigantic speakers inside.

depending on why hes on probation this isnt that serious.

chances are the mall or whoever didnt call. the rent-a-cops were the only ones involved. a letter to the place would be a joke. as for the volunteering sure it sounds nice and all but this isnt a criminal charge. again i highly doubt the judge would give a shit.

our legal system blows they are going to fuck whoever they want any way they want to.

I would think a misdemeanor conviction certainly will affect his probation. He should beg for mercy to get the judge to reduce it down from a misdemenor to a lesser citation.

Wow mines only a city ordance ive got like 3 or 4 ( one by a bike cop...) $75 1st, $125 each one after. Im quick with the att button my my 880 but some times they sneak up on ya.

that blows. around here the cops dont care unless there is a complaint and all they can do (that i know of) is give you a warning to turn it down, then all you can get is a disturbance charge.
