I got 2 alpine type-x 12s in a ported box with a Hifonics 2400w Brutus

I think one of the coils is loose or something anyone have any tricks to temporally fix it until I can buy a new one

It's making a rattling noise when it hits Lows

a loose coil cant be fixed....what you should do is take them out of the box play a 20hz tone on medium volume and see if the subs are making the same noise.....if not then it could be an air leak around the sub or in the box...

I took I out of the box and it's deffinitly the coil is there a way I can run the sub around it like to the the other coil I'm gonna test it with a multimeter and see if either one is bad

If it's making noises then out of the box the sub is shot no way to fix it without a full recone and alpine doesn't so that

yeah, you can't just bypass the coil because it'll still make the noise. I had my 10 rebuilt by Corey Dean @SPLaudio and it is bangin in my truck on around 1200 watts daily.

That could rebuild it for me

I bought a sub from Corey that uses the type x mag. **** wangs with 1600 going to it.

Are you positive it is the coil? The surround could have lifted from the cone somewhere causing the subwoofer not to function properly especially on the lows.

IM really not sure what it is I know how to wire subs and amps

I went to school for wiring just never learned about the subs themselves

I've had this problem with other subs it makes a clicking noise when the

Sub flexes more and the power surges it's fine with long tones but when the

Tones are Short it clicks
