Type X in a small box

Just wondering if anyone had experience running a Type X (12in) in a ported box under 1.5 cubes. Ive got mine in a box thats just over 2 cubes after displacement and while its sounds great its taking up way too much space in my car. I did have it in a 1 cube sealed box but I like the ported sound a lot better.

To make any real size difference in the trunk you'd have to make the box somewhere near 1^3 ported. That would just be too darn small.

The space saved from 2cu to 1.5cu wouldn't be very effective. Though it would still play. It would lose some efficiency and make tuning harder to lower via aeros due to space limitations. Just things to take into account. Maybe it's time for an 8" in .8cubes?

Maybe if my type X cant handle a small ported box ill have to move on to a different sub because I really need the room. I heard the DC subs like small boxes, what about a 10" dc lvl 4 in a 1 cube ported box?
