now i know that the type r's are some of the best for SQ but does that mean that they will smash whoevers in the car too with the bass or will they jus sound clear. i want subs with clear but bonecrushing bass, r these the ones to get?

Well, I don't think I would go so far as to call them "some of the best", but they are decent. And they'll get decently loud too (if you port them). But I wouldn't call it bone crushing bass..............

I happen to own 2 12" Alpine Type R's duel ohm. I must say i am very pleased with them. They are very good subs for their price.

If you get enough of them with enough power they will be bone crushing.

For bone crushing this formula is a good place to start.

Big or several subs

Big strong ported boxes

Big amps

Big alternator

Big wires

Well, I don't think I would go so far as to call them "some of the best", but they are decent. And they'll get decently loud too (if you port them). But I wouldn't call it bone crushing bass..............

But I also wouldnt sink so low to call them just "decent". I would call them "well over the average" for SQ, only eclipsed by the "super-subs" and all out SQ subs (focal etc..)

would u guys say that a pair of Rockford fosgate 12" HX2 RFD2212's would be a better buy for the same price as the alpines if i want good sound quality and loads of bass.

I have 2 10" Type R's sealed with 400 going to each. I am very happy with them. They get loud, but not to the point where ur chest feels likes its going to collapse. The SQ is excellent till your car starts to vibrate. I wish i had a system that knocked harder....but with the tight space, these were my best option. SQ=Very GOOD SPL=Decent

These subs are well worth the money, and if you port them, they are supposed to be very loud. I would recommend them to anyone.

yep. same setup for me right now.

check sig... 2 10's 2 amps.

I love them. ported and tuned to about 27hz, they sound incredible. I'm sending about 360w to each one. they are accurate, and never lag behind or get boomy. I love them and reccomend them to anyone.

oh yea, they can get pretty loud. Most people don't believe me that its only 2 tens till I show them...
