well im giving my 2-12-4ohm dvc type r's 500 rms in a center slot port box-well im not to impressed..i mean it hits hard but its a shallow hit(if you know what i mean- ive had crap subs in a sealed box that sounded better--so before i go to sealed i would like some opinions please!!!!!!!

Those should be tuned to the High 20's....but also, your not giving them enough power. I give my sealed 1041's 375 each......

You'll need to give those subs around 400WRMS each to get them to really start wanging.

Well, if the amp is 1 ohm stable, go ahead and run it at 1 ohm, but otherwise, 2 ohm will keep it cooler and all that shit.

well my amp sony(ha ha ha is being replaced with a memphis mc300(310 RMS@ 4 ohm--600 RMS at two ohms-. but i cant get 2 ohms out of my type r's so i was thinking about running 1 of them at two ohms and the other in my old ladies car with the sony(she dont care he he ) i have a 1.5 cube sealed for the one ...What do you guyz think???

Ported, this goes for any sub, unless ur an SQ freak. in that case go for a diffrent sub.
