Type R's in near future. Hifonics or Alpine Amps?

Yeah i got a budget of about $750 between subs and amps. Just recently did i decide to only push one amp tho is why i am asking all of this hehe. I know going 2 12's with the 2006 is under my budget by quite a bit, and two 15's with the 2006 is right on. What other amps do you reccomend if i would go 2 15's, just to see whats out there? anyone?

lol 2 15 = 400 bucks u got 350 for a amp let some other ppl point u towards a nice amp i dont know

anything you get will walk all over that type E...

my R's do 137 on the dash with music off of ~900 watts (according to my clamp meter). Two R's on a Herc, be they 12's or 15's will get decently loud... i'd expect low to mid 140's out of a decent box with a decent electrical setup

hmm, i got a budget of $750 like i said, so if i go two 12's, that leaves me with plenty of money for an amp, around $500, if i go two 15's i got $350 for an amp. Man i hate decisions lol. The Herc is around $450 on ebay. So im either pushing two 12's wiht more power then they need or breaking my spending limit with that amp hehe.

the BXI2006d and the XX herc both push 2000w at 1 ohm. whats the difference?

just save up a lil more cash, and you'll get a setup that will put you in the mid 140's... just brace the hell out of your box, and build up your electrical system a little, and you can get 145's out of those subs, easy.

That amp can just about push those R's to their limits... to get much more output than 145 out of them you might want to consider different subs. (although honestly, unless you're competing, a system that hits 145 will make just about anybody happy... 146 is crazy... i was in a car that does mid 150's on music on friday night, and that sh!t was NUTS)

Yeah this isnt for any competitions. Im doing a whole overhaul in my car, so money is kinda tight, i guess i can try to save up for that Herc. Trying to keep my total budget around $1600 or under, and thats subs, amps, speakers, HU, and any electrical improvements hehe. I was planning on doing a big3 and all. probably would need an extra battery too im assuming.

the herc actually does 2500, or more.

heheh okay okay i get the point. this is gonna take some thinkin. I either get the 12's and the 2006, which is already a huge improvement to my system (and im not trying to do competitions) and spend the extra dough on deadener or something, or spend the extra $100-150 and go all out.... aahhhhhhh

Think of it this way, your type E sub is not a bad sub at all. I ran one when I had my Eclipse hatchback. It sounded great. I had it in my Elantra 4 door until I upgaded to a single type R with the proper amp. Type R is leaps and bounds better. I would think, unless you want some major spl, 1 12' will pound quite nicely for you. Ported in the proper box you should be very happy!

get two 15's and a 2006 Herc. have a box custom made for them and you will be golden. just do it. the little extra you spend will be well worth it. the difference between two 12s and 2 15s is alot...

yeah. im in the middle of a pretty good deal of getting two alpine type-r 12's from a g uy on these forums, but i havent gotten a response from him in a while:crap: so if i dont get any more info from that guy then im gonna do the 15's and a herc. Am i gonna need some serious eletrical modifications to run that thing hehe?
