I heard a pair 05 Type R 12s in a sealed box the other day.....Really didnt impress me, SQ was lacking, and my Rl-p's pwned them when it came to getting loud.

it wasnt bad, but to me they sounded better ported. juss had no bass at all. thats juss my opinion.

what about the 04's. how do u feel about them in a sealed box, cuz im going to port them but i wanna know how much will this improve the spl cuz ima bass head.

How much power do you have for the pair?

As for the thread jacker, bigv -> The ported box will be alot better if youre a "bass head". Make sure its built right though.

Type R=Ported, Type X=Sealed

in contrast the 04 Type R's do preform quite well in sealed enclosures.
