Type R or S Speakers

power ratings on the type rs are higher, meaning you can push more power to them. the type r is also just a better built speaker. alpine has three levels of speakers type s(low end), type r(mid grad), and the type x(highest quality) it's like this for any speaker company.

yeah but there's a weird thing about that, bc the type xs have a lower end series and a higher end series within the type x series itself. i dont get it, shoulda just did the pro's in my opinion and done away with the refrences.

i think its especially stupid since i think an ive heard from lots of other ppl that those r's are better then the refs. just marketing im sure. put an x on them charge a lil more then the type r's an ppl are gonna buy the x's more then the r's for 20$ more just cause there supposedly better.

I have the SPX-13REF, and type-r 6x9s. I have also heard the Type-R comps. The type-x ref annihilates the type-r line. You are out of control.

well thats ur personal preference. i heard them both in the same car off the same amp an i liked the r's better.

what do u mean what kind are they? i'd go with those. there amazing for the money. screw the rms wattage on them give them 150 each. read the reviews on them. they get amazing reviews.

Honestly the S X AND R all sound like poo compared to things in their price range. The S and R are bright and pretty harsh, midbass is below avg. The X is a decent set but its output is lacking.
