My 15'' type-r is sitting around in my lovely tcab paperweight and for some reason my arc 1000 watter doesnt make it loud in the box i have it in.

im thinking of throwing it in a sealed box. What kind of results can i expect from doing this and giving it 1000 watts? Would there be any spl at all, and how would it sound..?

I'm not much of an expert, but I think that would be like saying you were hot and going walk in Death Valley on July 4th.

Ported = SQL or SPL or loudness

Sealed = Better SQ but a little quieter

Are you sure your amp is putting out 1000 REAL watts? What ohm do you have it wired to? 1000 watts is kind of weak for a Type R 15" considering the punishment they can take. I'm putting 1200+ a piece on my 12" Type Rs when I get it all set up. They laughed at 800 a piece so i would think your 15 would laugh at 1000. I'd put a Bxi1606 to it if I were you.

Like I said I'm kind of a noob but I'm just trying to help as much as possible.

I'm pretty sure the type R's have a higher Q than 0.4 which means they should be in a sealed box in the first place. If you put them in a ported box they may sound bad without correct EQ.
