I've been hearin alot of great stuff about the new type R's. I am looking for 2 12's. Saying you give them the suggested power and space requirements which would win the Type R's or a pair of AA avalanche 12's

The Type R and the Avalanche aren't really in the same class, when you look at price, power handling, etc...apples to oranges.

Well actually the AA website doesn't have the power rating for the ava 12 but for the 15 it says 500-800 so it should be in the same ballpark and they sell direct for 200 +shipping. and as for the type are they are rated at 500 rms with the msrp at 220 but with ebay I know you can get them cheaper.

So many ppl been saying great things about them I was wonderin if they compete the the bigger dogs?

Power requirments are not the only thing you use when comparing different drivers.

yes they can compete with the big dawgs, the TYPE R's are indeed good subs , and power does matter to a degree. box matters , electrical system , headunit, many things apply but to answer your question, i know the type r is a great sub , never tried AA. ive got 2 12"s R's and i love em, i wanna put more and more juice on them, im thinkin of going with a mojo amp on them. there power hungry. Spkmans running a 15" R with 2 1000ds! two! thats like 2 oe 3 times the power rating RMS. Please ...no TYPE R haters....

What else can I use. Honestly I'm a noob and I don't know what any of those 3 letter abreviations mean. I know xmas=linear excursion and I know what the freq response is thats about it. pathetic I know but I want to learn

type r all the way, the 12s seem 2 like 2.2 cubes each ported tuned 2 low 30s. they seem 2 work best in that box. u can also try 2.5 also. i'd also put em in separate boxes. if u can use aeroports. but slot is fine also.
