Type R - 600 rms?

I currently have two Alpine MRD-M605's, each one puts out 600 rms at 2 ohm. I wanted each one to push a Type R 12? I know the subs are rated at 500 rms, is it going to create a problem for the subs to give them 600 rms?

Next, I don't have the time right now to build a custom enclosure. Should I go with the ported/vented, or sealed (sql)

O thats news to me, maybe ill ahve to look at getting some.
If you get the right tuneing and the right demensions, u can get the ported otherwise go with sealed.

Anyways.. If you want true SQL then ported would be your best bet. Tune low, maybe 28Hz. And as for the ~100w over, there are people running more than 1200w to their R's daily, and they take it without a problem.. You will be fine.

Sweet, I am doing the HU this weekend, amps and subs next week. Thanks for the help, please let anyone you know that builds enclosures to PM me when you come across them.

Thanks.
