Alright guys, I'm in a quandary here. I've got a '98 S10 Ext. Cab. I want to build a wedge box that's ported and will allow a 15" Alpine Type R. Could I put the port on top and the sub on the front? I read somewhere that you needed the port on the same side as the sub. Slotted port was what I was aiming for. Here's the dimensions I'm workin with.

Width - 18

Height - 24

Depth - 12 top and 18 bottom

Any better ideas?

Thanks guys. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

sub up and port towards the driver or passenger side would probly work best. but ive never done it. i only had a reg cab truck. and so i had to do port forward and i did the port to the passenger side

why are you doing a wedge box in a ext cab?

ya think there's anyway from putting the sub anywhere besides the top? because I wanna retain the leg room on the passenger side so the sub doesn't take up that much room that way.

another question: what size does the box need to be? recommended size was this: ported box volume: 1.5-3.0 cu. ft. I think SPL was 2.9. How you recommend building the port? just along the the back of the box? the manufacturer states 27" long and 15" wide with a 1.5 inch port. I can only build the height of the box to 24"

3.5 cubes at 34hz and i would do 2 4" aero ports firing towards the passenger side, now whether you do them on the front or back or top or bottom of the box i have no idea, but i would fire them sideways. my box is 3.5 cubes at 33 hz with a single 6" port firing towards the side. sub firing forward (but i don't have a type R)

here's what i did with my 15" Fi Q, it worked pretty well...

I'm thinking of building a new box using aero ports... should i use 2 4" aeros, or one 6"???
