Type-R (1)15" vs (2)12"

Both setups will have an amplifier to power them @ rated rms [(750) & (500)(500)]. Just wondering what the differences would be and what you would recommend. Thanks

2 12's properly ported with more cone area should out due a 15

in my experience, if throw a k or more at the 15" it will get quite loud... you're going to need more power than that for the 2 12's

my 15 r was louder the 2 12 in R's in correct boxes. but agian the 2 12's i think choked off the trunk too much

You shouldn't go by rated RMS for Type Rs. They can take a WHOLE lot more than that. My 12s are rated at 500 rms and I'm giving them 1200 a piece. They laughed at 800 watts a piece.

In either one of those set ups the subs are way underpowered.

I am planning on going with the one 15" after thinking about it and I will be running it off of Alpine MRD-1005 v12 mono block running 1000w rms @ 2 ohm load. I know I run the danger of over heating it but with the back seats down and all the windows and sunroof down I don't think I will have that problem.

Type-R 15" D4?VC wired for a 2ohm load.

A 2 ohm load shouldn't even get it that hot unless you wang on it continously. Nothing to worry about really. That setup should be pretty good as well.

Yeh i run my Planet Audio at 1ohm and i play it for an 1hr and itll still be pretty cool.

And my 15 Type R begs for more than my 1255watts its gettin.
