two quick questions regarding speakers and power

Ive only got 50w x4 @ 4 ohms out of my eclipse xa5000. Question 1: Looking at buying cdt cl or hd components and want to know if I would be better off with a different set given my power limitations. I am not interested in anything described as "bright" or "harsh" in regards to the highs. Want the mellower sound of silk.

Question 2: I can get cdt coax's for cheap in comparison. In a new Toyota Tundra, would my money be better spent ($100) going towards the purchase of components and just keeping the crap stockers?

Thanks for any help.

You may want to go with CL 62 (CL-62.2 - 2 Ohm version)

6.5” 2-way component system that will draw more power from your Eclipse amp, you want to stay away from the HD's cause the are like 5 db deficient compared to the CL's and there is no 2 ohm version, unless you want to blow $600 on a set of HD 62US for the 92.6 db spl

Good luck with those! Hopefully they will be smooth and not harsh like a set of JBL P660C's, although these are not titanium just silk dome also.

You may want check out the Raimbows if you like smooth sweet highs.

CDT Audio components can handle a good amount of power, easily over 100W RMS on most models, but this doesn't mean they won't sound good on 50W RMS as well. If you don't care about your sound coming from down by your legs then the coaxials should sound good, too, but the power handling isn't drastically lower.

Have you looked at any specific models of component sets? What year of Tundra do you have? You probably have 2" speakers in the dash, 6x9s in the front doors, and 6.5s in the rear doors. The NS 6902 package might be the perfect foundation for a great sounding system front and rear.

Aside from the sets with a midbass type driver instead of a midrange 6.5" woofer, the HD 6.5" sets are 91+ dB. Plus, there are several 2 Ohm versions of component sets and coaxials available.

Here is the package Im looking at. He is making my box and from what I hear he does great work. Well respected. Looking at components in the front of the 2012 tundra with the tweeter on the dash replacing the small driver. coax in the back. CDT Audio CL-62 6.5" Components - Check Out Our Products!

Any input on this deal vs this deal given my 50w @ 4 and 75w @ 2. the set below can be had in a 2 ohm speaker and comes with the imaging tweets for the top of the cab.

entirely different system. Dont know if they are better or worse than the two I listed, but they are definately different woofers, tweeters, and crossovers. Ive heard very good things about the tw-25 tweets in the links I posted. Again, I know nothing about the speakers in your listed link. How do they compare?
