two questions.

Whats a decent high sensitivity speaker to run from HU power? 100$ish

Old guy asked me to put a new hu and some speakers in his old beat truck. whoever had it before utterly fucked the wires. Luckily. Power/ground are still solid, but i cant find the constant anywhere.

am i able to just run a wire from the back of the hu's constant directly to the battery?

You can do that..Id place an inline fuse at the battery(be best to run to the fuse panel for a shorter run of wiring also)Id still run an inline fuse this way also, and run min of 14 ga.Constant wire keeps the memory on all your settings. You can run the dimmer wiring to the on/off switch/aux from the fuse panel. A good speaker that Ive always had great experiences with off head unit power as well as amplifier power for a low powered system has been a set of Polk DB series.Sound very nice and not a wallet breaker.I have taken out most of my expensive speakers ect out of my truck, and will be placing the Polks back in temp.and a set of Hertz Energy I have sitting around. You can find the Polks at a decent price.Try You Tube on some that have been installed off HU power to get an Idea

They do sound nice man,,The Milles are excellent. My friend Shadow has those. Not Cheap.lol.You should be able to use a 10 amp, but I would use 15 no larger(Most HUs are 10-15 amp.Id use the size that the HU takes

Man once you get them set up, they kick azz.Shadow had all of the Hertz series.Ive never heard such Crisp Clean speakers as those. You could hear no hiss or? from those jokers. He was running like 250 per side.Id have to look up his amps he was using, lol those werent cheap either. He was into to SQ, and Im more SQL/SPL.Went to several SQ shows to get info, and listen to some great systems. It can get expensive real fast man, lol. You can find those Polks new for around $60-70 bucks.Well worth the money for low powered systems

You talking about the 3 ways? Ill prob get them eventually but i dont want to put them money into glassing up 3 ways for my 94 camry >.>

Do you know what he used for tuning? i assume a sound processor. Id be curious to know what he used for amps or rather..how many amps he used.

Yes sir 3 ways,MS8 the HU you have.He used 2amps that I know of.They werent Masconi...Hmm Gladden amps I think it was.Ya he ran Hks last I knew of.They were like $1300 bucks or so at the Tx Heat Wave, for front stage.6.5s in the doosr in pods, tweets and mids in pods on the dash and the entire truck was layered in deadner(like 4 layers) in a single cab chevy,13" Oval Boston sub,and sometimes an Arc Audio 12(1k) in a center console

GLADEN GERMAN TECHNOLOGY Amplifiers

Two of the biggest jokers they made,Like surf boards man.Sounded awesome man.The crashes on the symbols, just awesome man,.I think the coolest thing was even though the sub was sitting in between us, I couldnt tell where the bass was coming from.I lost touch with him the last couple months. He moved on me,we hung out for couple years.Straight up guy and an amazing car audio tuner

Is there any way to get a hold of that guy? I'd to ask him a few questions.
Ive been trying to locate him,and find him, as he moved on me recently.I know he will get a hold of me again.I havent hit DIYMA yet,but Ill give it a shot this weekend. We both are in our 40s and been in Car audio since late 80s.Im hoping he will swing by my house or hit me up on some of the sites, pretty good guy and we had some great times
