First off, Hi everybody!
I'm new here and I'm in some need of help.
First off, my amp went and died on me......kinda.
I had a visonik V208XT http://www.visonikcaraudio.com/product.jhtm?id=539&cid=12 wired to mono powering my subs and the fuse blew on it.
Now when I say the fuse blew, I mean the **** thing BLEW THE **** UP, the plastic covering the fuse melted, exposing the fuse, which then fused itself in the holder, so its a big clump of plastic and metal where a normal fuse should be.
Granted, i only bought the amp for 30 bucks(it was on clearance at pep boys) so its not like its a HUGE loss, just an annoyance.
Plus, I was abusing the amp, had the gain cranked to max, so im kinda suprised it lasted this long( got it during the summer)
My two questions are as stated.
1. Seeing as I only got that amp for 30 bucks, would it be worth fixing, or would repairs cost me more than what i paid for it?
2. If its not worth fixing would this be a suitable replacement? http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_1995_Visonik+V317SX.html And if its not a good amp, can you recommend something in this price range?
i have 2 12' Duals that run 600w-rms 1100w-max.
Also keep in mind that i bought everything (the subs, the amp, wiring kit) for a grand total of 120 bucks, so i'm not looking for anything fancy, just a new amp that works.
