two of different kind

i have two subs im planning to use in a single box. they have the same power handling, same size. their difference is their brand and their coils. the 1st is SVC and the other DVC.

my plan:

series DVC = 8 ohm load

then, parallel wire it with 4 ohm SVC. whats the final load?

?? is it ok to use different subs at all?

dont do it, dont even think about it. Just cuse they're the same size and have the same power handling does not make them the same subs. Gonna sound like crap

UNLESS

u have a switch to make sure only 1 sub plays at a single moment. (ie switching from one sub to the other)

Even with a switch, if they are in the same box the result will be ugly. Just say "NO!"

dont do it, run 1 sub, have the other UNHOOKED or get a match to either and run the same SUB!

If you had two different subs that magically had the same T/S parameters, then you could do it just fine.

Hell, it's hard enough to find two of the same sub that has the exact same t/s params. I haven't seen two matching subs that have the same DCR

exactly. With different VC configs and DCR, they'll be recieving different amounts of power. Even if they are the same sub, one SVC and one DVC it would be a horrible match.

what i meant with bad *** is music that could be heard down the street. wen ur inside my cabin. u wont think that it has an amplifier. i mounted them under the seats and the speakers are under the door panels. sleeper....the only thing obvious is my sub. pics will come later. m using kicker, alpine and blaupunkt.
