Two FiQ15s or one LMS5400 ? your opinions

"Melted coil?" "pistonic" "head examined"
Coming from a consumer who has not even tested or heard the driver, I would find that naive.

But coming from a competitor, I find this unusually unprofessional.
Don't even try the unprofessional bit, go ahead and bow up and ruffle your feathers again, i gotta see this.

Your coils will take upwards of 18kw for an extended period of time?

Let's see that technical data that's going to prove me wrong.

I became a TC fan after from my subjective ears, that I liked the sound of the Uber better than the XXX. I think both RE and TC Sounds are great companies..

Now for the matter at hand..until it comes out..I don't think we can assume anything about the LMS-5400..just the sheer size of it makes it look intimidating/sexy/whatever you wanna call it. I'm not a t/s parameter expert, just the fact that I found my 3hp is very impressive..the new TC4LM motor caught my eye. But these are just opinions, not facts. I'm sure Kyle from TC Sounds will chime with some test results..

I have no experience with Fi but from what I've heard, it's a great company.

It's the battle of the boners..Fi vs TC..//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

NDM...no aggression intended...but when you posted about the XMX having the displacement of "n" number of xxx's (forget the #)...was that proven/tested?
Trying to keep any companys out of the argument and keep it just in technical data...so kyle's panties dont get twisted again.

The square proto XMX that was at CES had the equivalant displacement if 8 xxx 15's..

Granted having the extra displacement is going to make the depth retarded, but regardless...it can/did move 8" linearly...and can be produced if somebody so desires to (would be AMAZING for a theatre). Custom 1-off woofers like that are worth the money that they cost...i think the old xxx 15's were around 450 bucks a piece (guessing here) so that would be 3600 dollars for the equivilant amount of displacement....when put in terms like that, its a VERY affordable technology.

40.1's do 9k watts each? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif

How about less drama and more data. I think we can all agree on that.

more data eh? Im wondering why TC has yet to man up and send the subs for the test session... im tired of hearing ppl say "why no tc drivers?" I personally would love to have a tc sub sitting on my pool table, but doesnt look like thats gonna happen ...

edit kyle where is your tc sounds avatar? Did someone tell u to take that down?

Probably because they know that Loyd will catch the spider deflection //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

"upwards" is the term i used...actual power after the impedence rise that the coil is going to have...prolly close to 10k out of the pair....

but on a 16v system at ~.5ohm - it is very well possible

Does having one in my trunk count? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

But seriously I see what you're saying..they should let Loyd test the new woofers! TC demo test ftw!
