Just about there!

I FINALLY have my parents paid back for buying my car. I'm sure you all know what this means.... TIME TO FINISH THE SYSTEM! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I'm getting anxious. So far I have two parts. The headunit: a Pioneer DEH-P6800MP, and the amp: a Phoenix Gold x200.4. I plan on getting some Crystal SSCS 6 comps for my frontstage. I'm still not quite sure what I want for my substage.

Hopefully this is where you guys can help me out. I am going for just one sub, either a 12" or a 15". It would be nice to be able to retain most of my trunk space. Also, this is why I chose a 4-channel amp. Being a highschool athlete, I will need the trunk space.

I want a sub that will be able to get nice and low, and sound good off of 400wrms. Preferably an SQ sub, yes I know... it's subject to the listener, but you know what I mean. After spending a LOT of time searching and reading up on various subs, I have narrowed it down some. Here are some of the subs I'm thinking about:

-12" AA Assassin: I've heard very good things about this driver and I'm leaning towards this the most, not sure if it can handle the 400wrms though.

-15" AA Atlas: A good driver from what I've heard, but I might be better off with the Assassin.

-12" Fi X

-12" TC Sounds db-500

-12" TC Sounds TC-1000

I haven't heard much about the last three subs, but would be willing to give one a try. If you guys have any other ideas, I would be more than happy to hear. Thanks in advance fellas. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsup.gif.3287b36ca96645a13a43aff531f37f02.gif

Are you going to seal or port the sub? I assume seal since you want trunk space. I would go with the 15 inch Atlas. With only 400 watts and a sealed box you are going to need all of the thump that you can get.

I don't think that the Atlas being bigger in size will make it louder than the others. Also, I'm not looking for monsterous bass. I just want bass to be there, to fill in the deeper end of the music spectrum. I listen to 99.9% rock, the other 0.1% being a combination of acoustic, jazz, and techno-ish music. So, the loud bass isn't necessary. It's the type of quick kickdrum music and some songs with some deep musical basslines. Regardless, I might be able to put whatever sub I choose into a ported box.
