Two 8'' W7's or Four 6.5'' W3v3's???

Both set ups run off a PDX1.600 or a 500/1. Which setup would you guys do and with which amp? All installed in a 2002 Ford Explorer. I listen to all types of music, mostly punk/rock. Thanks!

i disagree totally...he is running a 500/1...thats barely enough to power one W7 properly

I am really contemplating the new HD 800/5. You really think the W7's wouldn't do well off that 500? I thought those were perfect at 300 watts a sub?

Because I get 10% over cost at the shop I used to work at on JL, Alpine, Kicker and MTX...

Crossovers are much better on the 300/4 than the 800/5. I believe the 800/5 does not have the frequency multiplier switch for the front channels. As far as subwoofer setup here is my 2 cents...

6w3:

surface area=17.36 sq in(x4)=69.44 sq in

69.44 sq in times 8.89mm(xmax)=617.32 one way volume displaced.

8w7:

surface area=38 sq in(x2)=76 sq in

76 sq in times 19mm(xmax)=1444 one way volume displaced.

A difference of 826.68 on EACH end of the stroke, total displacement differnce of 1653.36. More than twice the out put of the 6w3s. As far as power goes either amp will do quite well with both setups.
