The TV has to deinterlace and upscale it to its native resolution, so you're bound to get some degree of distortion. How much distortion will depend on the quality of the filters used and, unfortunately, the quality of those filters is usually not very good these days as it can't be expressed in a numerical value because the general public (aka ignorant masses) bases their buying decisions on numbers and price.i have the samsung PN42A450 or something like that its a 42 inch samsung plasma and when i did not have hd and was watching a basketball game or just any channel it looked pretty bad.
I believe it is because it comes in 480 and so the tv has to put it in 720 therefore distorting it? can someone clarify on this.
