tuning low ???

I'll but my low end sealed box against equal subs in ported any day of the week.. ^_^ ^_^ ^_^
Exactly how low are we talking? I'm referring to spl compared to the rest of your response curve. I'm only 3db down at 25hz. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif And with a $50 woofer.

I can easily model up a ported woofer to have a f3 in the mid to upper 20's...it's hard to find a sealed sub that can give you a f3 below 35hz. The 15" Dayton Reference HF is one that will, along with the Mach 5 IXL, but they both require good sized boxes to do it.

mmmmmm, 25hz //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/drool.gif.b5e863e893038027711d4402f340dad0.gif

And I bet they'll beat you in SPL every day of the week...
I want to bet him...... let me please please please... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif I have enough gear and enclosures already built for any kind of testing he would like to do.

That's a badass woofer, owned a 12" one once...loved it, sadly only got to free air it before I had to sell it.

I'm contemplating doing three of the 15's below my window line. They need about 4ft^3 each though...thankfully I have a lot of room below my window line. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

20-45hz I'll rattle your teeth out.. and yes.. this is fun
What world are you living in where a sealed enclosure is louder than a ported? Seriously, if the build quality is good, all other things the same the ported will be louder all day long...

I'm referring to spl compared to the rest of your response curve. Saying what you said indicates nothing more than you believe your sealed setup is loud within a given frequency range. Do some metering and see what kind of output you have at 30hz compared to 60hz(this is assuming no eq has been done to the woofers).

can we bet? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif I'm very confident in my low hz builds to reproduce those levels much louder/cleaner then yours //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

You must be very bored today.

I have gotten metered at different freq. but I have no photo's so no pics= it didnt happen... and 60hz ***** ballz compared to 25-45 ranges... but most is the trucks resonant freq. with the the combo of the box and its loading..

And yes.. very very very bored.. alot of people getting pissy so quick.. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

If you factor in cabin gain the right sealed sub is very capable of playing down to 20hz with great authority. Many regard sealed to be the most ideal setup in an automotive environment based on SQ. You may loose some output, but sheer output isn't everything.

Due to space contraints I'm currently running 2 15s I built with soft suspensions and heavy copper coils in 4cubic feet sealed with about 2kw of power, and they murder the lows....

SQ is subjective. If you're looking for the flattest possible response curve, usually sealed will give you that in a car. Porting is more...
