RECOMMENDED ENCLOSURES

Sealed - 1.5 ft^3

Ported - 1.65 ft^3 (3" diameter, 6" long)

4th order bandpass - 0.9 ft^3 sealed, 0.9 ft^3 ported (3" diameter, 5" long

now i wonder, what would be best for SPL? and what the hell is 4th order bandpass? is it spl or sq?

tnx!

4th Order Bandpass is between Ported and Sealed in terms of output ...
I'd go with an enclosure as large as possible tuned to 45 Hz for all out SPL ...

If you want daily-driver SPL (And the ability to play most songs without damaging the subwoofer), large as possible tuned to 30 Hz ...

what then will the size of the box will be(liters)? (sealed?)

tnx!

What are the maximum dimensions of your trunk ?
You want to go ported, by the way ...

So is this going to be a competition box or is this going to be a daily driver box ?

daily driver with casual entries on "Amatuer" in a spl comp in israel.

Ported enclosureLargest volume possible

As much port area as possible

Tuning frequency around 40 Hz
i am sorry, i am quite new to this, can you tell me how does a ported box looks like?

is it like this

sub goes here

can some one post the way i should build the box?

considering i have all of the trunk space for it its a hyundai lantra 96.

Basically, it's a rectangular box with the sub on one side and the slot port on the other side against one of the walls of the enclosure
Port exit and subwoofer should be located on the same side ...
ok, i think im starting to understand, might you have a plan of a box as this?

attachment.php

OK! got it! so now, how do i calculate the port to cut the frequency on 40Hz?

i think i got the hang of it though i have only one problem, the isdpro lets me make peers, how can i tell her i dont want peers, i want a band pass box?

or is it the same, and i am a freak?!

i quite figure out all of this by myself - tnk you.

what i wanted to ask is if abandpass is actually a peered box only its peered in the other side.

and what about calculation of wood plates, can it do it?

i think u mean ported instead of peered.

yes a bandpass box is ported both sides of the box, that is 6th order bandpass..

4th order is ported on one side.

use 3/4 mdf (medium density fiberboard) if its available.

here is the box i am eventualy building

check it out

Vented(port) 3.178 ft^3 (90Liter) box

tuned to 35Hz

a square port of 2.792*2.792*3.031

height width depth

the box will be these sizes

height - 22'

width - 26.4'

depth - 14'

mdf thickness 3/4'

speaker displacement 0.5 ft^3

gross - 3.192

net - 3.178.

Now, just to make sure, you did plug this into WinISD Pro and checked the Rear Port - Air Velocity graph, right ? You want peaks to be under 30 m/s, if possible ...
I get a peak of 93.261 m/s @ 34.23 Hz with 400 watts ...

You definitely need a larger port, unless you're running less than 41 RMS to it ...

really?

even with this big box?

narf, i got it to a peak of 28.15ms in 35.05hz.

port size (wood size not calculated yet.)

10.20*14.00cm

28.88cm length
