Tryin to get big..just started lifting. Any advice?

Ahhh I see... impressive still..

Creatine at least?
Nah no creatine. I've tried a few NO supplements (which I guess contain small amounts of creatine) at times. Not for too long though. Worked great but effects wore off fast.

PS - yea they can be sort-of kind-of safe, but nobody does it the right way. I still wouldn't do it either way. If you can do it the natural way, which is the absolute safe way no questions asked, then why not?

Yea I dunno, I've been losing that motivation for a while. Gains have become less and less, but I think I've put less time in anyways. Just moreso maintaining now. Gotta set a goal to work towards. Thats what really gets the ball rolling.

Im working out at the Civic Center btw..to whoever it was that asked. Its a local gym for Gallatin. With these supliments, am I gonna have to eat RIGHT for ANY of them to work, or is that only on some?
You have to eat right to notice any real gains. Period. Supplements or not.

"You can't out train a lousy diet"

Food for the body. Muscles can't rebuild if there isn't anything there to build off of. I think you should be much more worried about your diet first, then your workout, and then supplements last.

I am pretty sure after yesterdays work out I can barely move...so I dont think I will be going today. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Say it with me....
Beefcake, now you....

BEEFCAKE.....

BEEEEEEEEEEEFCAAAAAAAKE!!!

PS - to whoever said 150 pounds is scrawny, I have to disagree (now that also depends on your height). I was 115 pounds last year, I went up to 176, and cut to around 155 now. I'm stronger than a lot of my 200 pound friends. I can rep 225 on the bench a few times no problem and squat well over 300, which might not seem like much, but remember, kind of like cars, power to weight ratio. haha
I consider a person weak if they're 200lbs and cant rep 225 a few times or squat below 400. I did 375x3 at 164lbs and even thats no tottally impressive.

Thats why I'm not weak, because I'm 150 lbs :p

Also not everyone gets to the gym and has that kind of strength (or lack of?). I haven't tried maxing out on anything for fear of hurting myself since I have two pretty bad wrists and one bad shoulder already. Not gonna push it. Like I said, I don't think its too bad repping 225 for 6 or 7 at 150 pounds. It's not crazy, but its a big difference from weighing 120 lbs and not being able to get 135 up 6 times. hah As for squatting, I've only been doing that for a few months, and I honestly have been slacking on it lately so who knows what I can do.

Take it from me if your a fat body you need to do cardio either 30 min running or on a bike to lose fat. I see these fat bodies in the gym lifting weight but it's not going to do anything if you got an enormous amount of fat.

Before, you start taking supplements I recommend you build a base aka just working out for a month or so without any supplements. And if your fat don't take protein shakes jesus you already fat and have enough weight...concentrate on burning that and then building it into muscle.

Yes and a proper diet is a must. Cut out fried food and go for baked aka baked chicken instead of Churches. Also, try eating in more you can portion control that way and make sure you get what you need in your daily diet.

In addition, I would core at least once a week which is just your overall body aka push ups, setups, and running can be a good core day.

bodybuilding.com can be a site for resource or motivation in addition magazines like Men's Health offer diet tips and new exercises you can do to mix up your routine.

Have fun and if you have anymore questions let me know I'll help.

p.s. stop drinking soda which I know a crap load of you do drink fruit juice or better yet water. When you feel tired in the afternoon it's most likely cause your drinking or eating junk food. What you eat has a big part of your physical and mental energy if your drinking a gallon of Pepsi everyday your going to feel like being lazy and or feel like crap.

-eat 4 or 5 small portion of food a day

-work out 2 hrs a day....5 days a week
