True Sub or Powered Box ? Please ?

I am a beginner / intermediate. I am on a budget - now with a family. I have a 94Jeep Cherokee and although I enjoy custom work, have opted to go the simplist route with the system. I have purchased (4) 2-way Candence 5.25" separets w/ cross overs to fit the existing holes, a sufficent 4 channel 75 x 4 @ 4ohm amp and a alphasonic eq.

My question is what to do about the bass needs: Should I use a small powered sub woofer box? It makes the most sense for me - due to cost and simiplicity, but I have never used one. I live in a rural location and have no car audio buddies to ask.

What can I expect if I go this route? Kenwood has a small unit I can mount under a seat? And I have looked online at others....

I desire a clear, and full sound at both low and high volume. I built a very complicated system once with many speakers and found what I was looking for, but spent many hours working on it, both before and after I installed it. I really enjoy the hobby, but can not piss my wife off too much with the time and cost of a complicated system.

Thank you very much for your time.
